Synopsis Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

A young girl, Alice goes off to sleep in a meadow, has a dream and follows a White rabbit into rabbit hole. She meets very strange and illogical creatures and has bizarre and wondrous adventures. Unexpectedly her size often changes from very small to very big and she encounters characters including Red Queen, Duchess, March Hare, Mock Turtle, Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat. To change her size she eats toadstools, cakes, drinks potions and plays croquet games with a flamingo, attends tea parties and also witnesses the trial of the knave of hearts where the queen shouts, ‘Off with their heads”. Alice also encounters, Tweedledee and Tweedledum the squabbling twins. Every object neatly functions as a symbol in the adventures Alice had. The symbols often work together, conveying a meaning in particular for example an idyllic space of innocence and beauty, the Garden of Eden is symbolized by the garden.
